Privacy Policy

The Hopewell Valley Education Foundation ("HVEF", "we") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds grants for Hopewell Valley Regional School District teachers and staff. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and how we use it.

Information you give us

  • Website change requests. When you use "Request a change to this page" on our website, you sign in with your Google account. We receive your Google email address, the page you were on and the change you describe. We use this only to track your request and to email you a confirmation and an update when it is done. We do not use it for fundraising or marketing, and we do not sell or share it. HVEF's use of information received from Google APIs (your Google email address) follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
  • Messages and forms. If you email us or send a form (for example grant inquiries, volunteer interest or sponsorship questions), we use your information only to respond and to run the program you asked about.
  • Donations. Online giving is not yet available on our website. If you give by check or another method, we use your name, contact details and gift amount only for receipts and our records.

Information collected automatically

  • Website analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website (for example which pages are visited, how long people stay and which links they click), so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. It does not give us your name or email address. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
  • Security. Our forms may use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Children and students

Our website is meant for adults (families, educators, donors and community members). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not publish student names, except approved scholarship recipients with permission, and we publish photos only with permission.

Who can see your information

Only HVEF volunteers who need it to respond to you. Our website and forms run on services from our website host (Firespring) and Google (Google Workspace and Google Sites), which store the information on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep change requests and messages only as long as we need them to respond and for our records, and then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete information you gave us by emailing info@hvef.org.
