The HVEF provides grants that enable Hopewell Valley educators to improve their skills; to adopt innovative new projects and programs for our students; and to purchase equipment that enriches the learning environment. The Foundation welcomes grant applications that enhance and advance our mission and goals.

Grant applications are accepted year round from teachers, departmental supervisors, support staff such as school nurses, and administrators. There is no monetary minimum or limit, however HVEF grants are generally intended to provide funds that are beyond the means of PTO grants and reach a wide number of students. Please ensure that your proposal addresses our mission, goals, and each of the key guidelines cited below, as appropriate.

Guidelines for grant applicants:

  • Brief background statement
  • Statement of need
  • Statement of purpose, goals & objectives
  • Specification of expected outcomes
  • Relationship to existing curriculum/educational program
  • Specific activities to be undertaken
  • Target group and number to be served via proposed activity/program
  • Assessment of outcomes/Determination of success
  • Commitment from district, school, department, etc. (e.g., letters of support, assurances of resources, etc.)
  • Proposed budget for the requested grant funds
  • Assurance that your principal or district administrator (or Program Director for non-school based proposals) supports and will provide required resources
  • Assurance that a final report will be provided to the HVEF Board. Assurance that HVEF support is acknowledged and referenced in all project materials and communications.
