Over 130 friends of education in Hopewell Valley attended the dinner, which honored the Hopewell Valley Regional School District Teachers of the Year as well as all the individual and corporate E-Squared Award Winners who have been honored since the foundations inception in 1999-2000. This years honored teachers include Bryanna MacAdams of Bear Tavern Elementary School; Sue King of Hopewell Elementary; Elizabeth McGuire of Stony Brook Elementary; Melissa Caruso of Tollgate Grammar School; Maureen Kelly of Timberlane Middle School; and Adam Shrager of CHS. Each teacher was presented with a check from the HVEF in recognition of all the teachers do for their students and the district. Individual E-Squared Award Winners from 2000 to 2008 included the late Jimmy Maul; Sheryl Stone; Maureen Ludwig; Sally Turner; Judy Hill; Kim Bruno; Carol Jackson; Carl Swanson; and Melissa Weeks. Each winner was honored for contributions in many ways to individual schools and to the district as a whole. Business and corporate E-Squared Award Winners began with Bristol-Myers Squibb, which was honored twice, in 2000 and again in 2006; the Pennington Quality Market; Janssen, L.P.; Yardville National Bank; the Hopewell Valley News; Merrill Lynch; Educational Testing Service; and the Hopewell Valley Community Bank. Chris Parks, education director at McCarter Theatre, also joined guests at the dinner to share some of the many ways in which McCarter and the school district have been able to join forces for several projects in which students write plays, perform for their peers, and study the process by which plays move from script to performance.
